How does spray tanning work?

Dihydroxyacetone ( DHA ) is a colourless sugar and the active ingredient in the guide coloured solution that will be sprayed onto your skin. This reacts with proteins and amino acids in the skin to create a golden brown colour.

The colour you see at the time of your treatment is purely a guide colour to show your therapist that your skin is evenly covered. after eight hours your actual tan will have developed and will be revealed after you shower. This is with the exception of the Express Tan, which develops after 1 hour.
